Asian Representative Play-Off Path Set for Zurich

ZURICH, Switzerland - The preliminary phase of the inter-confederation play-off tournament for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup™ will take place between November 24 and December 5, 2026, at a centralized venue. Representing the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), Uzbekistan and Chinese Taipei join South Africa, Ghana, Ecuador, and Papua New Guinea in a six-team field.

Under FIFA's tournament pathway, each nation will play three predefined matches against teams from other confederations. The top two overall finishing teams from this preliminary stage will advance to the final play-off phase in February 2027, where they will compete for the ultimate tickets to the finals in Brazil.
