Sabah FA Women Unleash 13-Goal Masterclass in AWCL
KOTA KINABALU, Malaysia - Malaysian champions Sabah FA kicked off their AFC Women’s Champions League (AWCL) 2026/27 Preliminary Stage campaign in sensational style, demolishing Guam's Rovers FC 13–0 in their Group A opener at Likas Stadium. The Rhinos established complete dominance from the opening whistle, delivering an attacking exhibition to claim the biggest victory recorded in AWCL Preliminary Stage history and send a strong statement to the rest of the group.
Sabah FA wasted no time asserting themselves, breaking the deadlock in the early minutes and racing to an unassailable lead before the halftime whistle. The host side maintained high tactical pressing throughout the 90 minutes, exploiting space in Rovers FC's defensive line and finishing clinically across all quarters. Sabah FA's backline and goalkeeper faced virtually no threat, securing a clean sheet to complement their +13 goal differential.
Group A Standings (After Matchday 1). With only the top team from Group A advancing to the 12-team AWCL Group Stage in November, Sabah FA takes early control of the group ahead of India's East Bengal FC.
