Disaster struck the A1 Energy BMW Racing Team at Round 5 of the FIM Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) in Sepang, forcing their complete withdrawal before racing even began.

The team announced they would not participate after "unforeseen technical difficulties" damaged the electronics of both their BMW M1000RR superbikes. The root cause was identified as the use of untested and unapproved battery charging equipment, which destroyed crucial components.

With the necessary specialized replacement parts unavailable due to their technical complexity and long lead times, the team had no choice but to pull out of the event.

The A1 Energy BMW Racing Team expressed deep regret to their fans and sponsors but promised to use the time to resolve the complex technical setbacks and return with "renewed vigor" for the final race at Buriram. The highly competitive ASB1000 grid will proceed without the two BMW entries this weekend.
